Direct Access Background Checks

Crimcheck is still able to process 97.2% of our clients’ background screening orders.

Due to courthouse closures and delays in response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have developed the map below to display the level of direct access we have to process background checks throughout the country.  While some jurisdictions do not allow Direct Access to their terminals, Crimcheck can still process your background checks via our direct court integrations.

Below are the states and the percentage of direct access through our technology, where we can continue to access information and provide FCRA compliant records. Scroll over your state to see detailed stats. Sign up to get started with your background checks.

States In GREEN have 100-90% direct access

States in BLUE have 89-25% direct access

States in ORANGE have 24-10% direct access

States in GRAY have 9-0% direct access

As you know, many courthouses throughout the country will remain closed to the general public until further notice. This means that, industry-wide, public record researchers will not have physical access to the predominately used public record index. This will largely delay access to criminal and civil history information from manually researched jurisdictions.

That said, we are working diligently in areas where service may be delayed, to provide alternative searches where available. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Client Support Team. While our automated and in-house processed searches are not delayed, we expect delays when clerk assistance is required to provide additional ID’s or verify accuracy of information retrieved through automated searches.

We have added weekend Customer Support hours from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST on Saturdays and Sundays to assist you during this time and Crimcheck continues to process orders seven days a week.

Please contact your Crimcheck Customer Support team at 877-992-4325 or crim[email protected] with any additional questions or concerns.
