Oklahoma State Background Check Laws

Oklahoma’s governor signed an Executive Order (2016-03) in February 2016, banning-the-box on all state job applications. Certain sensitive positions were excluded, such as those where a felony conviction would be disqualifying. The goal was to give applicants with criminal records an opportunity to provide mitigating information and evidence of rehabilitation.

Cities Include: Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman, Broken Arrow, Lawton, Edmond, Moore and more.
