Employment Background Checks Utilize E-Signature Technology

Berea, Ohio – February 2, 2009 — Crimcheck, a national leader in employment background checks, announces a unique new service that utilizes technology to streamline the hiring process. Applicant Link is an online employment application, which provides clients with the ability to have the applicant’s process their own background check submission via an internet connection. This application leverages, the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (the E-Sign Act) of 2000. The E-Sign Act states that neither contracts nor signatures should be denied legal effect solely because they are in electronic form. Therefore, as allowed by, and in compliance with the E-Sign Act, the Disclosure and Authorization form for the enclosed applicant is signed electronically.

This service will save substantial time for the HR or Administrative personnel who previously had to enter the applicant’s data manually. With Applicant Link, the HR Administrator can generate a link within an email, which is sent to the applicant, who then submits his or her own background check request online. The data is transmitted directly to Crimcheck, and to the hiring manager, via a secure transfer protocol. With online application processes and paperless offices, background screening firms and employers use electronic applicant signatures for the purpose of obtaining written consent from applicants to verify their criminal, education and employment information. Applicant Link can even be customized to resemble the host company website. This service is offered free to all Crimcheck clients.
