The Melissa Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship

This scholarship is named in memory of Melissa M. Linville, a former beloved Crimcheck team member and friend, in order to honor and extend her legacy of charity, good works, and selflessness. During her life, Melissa touched countless lives through her service and compassion to others, her sincerity of heart, and the joy she brought to everyone surrounding her.

New-Crimcheck-Scholarship

Crimcheck, a DISA company, is honored to announce the 2023 recipients of the Melissa L. Linville Criminal Justice Scholarship. The 2023 scholarship was awarded to two recipients, Christine B. from Bolingbrook, IL, and Ladji R. from Dacula, GA.

This scholarship was established for two purposes: to foster and support education leading towards a Criminal Justice career path and to reward deserving applicants who are excellent representatives of this field.

Christine B.

Christine B. is a dedicated and passionate student at Lewis University, eagerly working towards her long-held dream of pursuing a career in the criminal justice field  with a future as a firefighter and arson investigation. She has seen the impact that fire fighters and fire investigators can have in helping people and serving her community. Christine is fully cognizant of the inherent risks that come with a career as a firefighter-paramedic, yet firmly believes that the rewards far outweigh these challenges.

Ladji R.

Ladji R. is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Leadership. His mission centers around empowering individuals within the criminal justice system, particularly those battling mental health illnesses and substance use disorders, as they transition back into society. Since 2018, Ladji has supported many through this transition and every one of them now enjoys stable housing, gainful employment, access to crucial mental health services, and a strong foundation of community support. Ladji has created a 13-week program which includes innovative curriculum addressing critical topics, such as understanding mental illness and substance use disorders, effective communication, and boundary-setting.
